Prohibition

The results

What the progressives expect of prohibition was totally opposite of what it actually occurred, they expected that with alcohol gone husbands would not beat there wife's, diseases related to alcohol would be irradiated, people would not be drunk on the job and the American society would reach a higher potential. But  The best laid plans often go wrong, the amendment was basically a catalysis, regular Americans ones that respect and were law abiding citizens were now ignoring it, there were many rural towns that completely ignored the law and kept on producing there own moonshine. while many Americans decided to create there own alcohol, there was the other option of acquiring alcohol, bootleggers.
Who is a bootlegger, what is a bootlegger, what does a bootlegger do.
bootlegger was another name for a person who would traffic alcohol from place to place, they also sold alcohol to speakeasy (illegal taverns). Who where these bootleggers, why the mobsters of course, yes many of the so called bootleggers were in fact mobsters. Because of prohibition many mobsters realized they could make a large amount of money by making and selling the alcohol.  as a result one mobster grew and became so powerful that he practicully controlled all of Chicago, his name was Alphonse Capone otherwise know as Al Capone or Scarface.
